Mysterious Jet Black Apple

A jet black apple. Snow White's apple perhaps?
There is a variety of black apple but this is not one of them.
It came from the same tree as the red one on the left.
Of the 20 pounds of apples picked from this tree this is the only one that ripened to solid black.
It was not moldy inside but very dark.
